With 12 years of service on the County Council, decades of community involvement, and a career built on public trust, I’m proud to run for re-election to continue delivering real results for the people of St. Charles County.
As a U.S. Navy Corpsman, I’ve always believed in serving others before myself. That mindset drives everything I do—from keeping our neighborhoods safe, to making sure families have the freedom to thrive right here at home.
I’m proud of the strong relationships I’ve built across city halls, boardrooms, and state agencies. Through my role on the East-West Gateway Council, I’ve helped bring major regional investments to our county, including record MoDOT funding, hospital expansion, and crime lab upgrades.
St. Charles County leads Missouri in median household income, health outcomes, and public safety—and I’ve been honored to help make that possible.
But there’s still more to do.
I’m committed to making sure young families continue to choose our county as the place to put down roots. Together, we can grow the next generation of leaders, job creators, and community builders.
Let’s keep St. Charles County moving forward—because this is home.
— Mike Elam

Mike Elam’s story is rooted in family, faith, and a lifelong desire to serve others. Though he didn’t grow up here, St. Charles County has been home for more than 30 years—and it’s where he and his wife Jennifer chose to raise their three children and build a life grounded in community.
Mike was raised in a small town by two incredible parents who showed him the value of public service and personal responsibility. His dad, a Southern Baptist pastor, taught him the importance of faith, kindness, and standing up for what’s right. His mom, a longtime elementary school teacher, instilled in him a love of learning and the work ethic it takes to turn dreams into reality.
Those lessons shaped Mike’s life—from his service as a Navy Corpsman to his career in business, broadcasting, and public office. Whether it’s serving on the County Council, emceeing community events, or volunteering through Rotary, Mike has always believed in giving back and making life better for the families who call this county home.
St. Charles County gave Mike the chance to grow, lead, and raise a family—and that’s exactly what he wants to protect for the next generation.

A Navy Veteran, in 2013, Mike took the step to enter public service, running for St. Charles County Council. His ability to connect with people, his experience in the business world, and his leadership qualities quickly made him a trusted figure in local government.
Elected to the County Council, Mike has served three terms as Chairman, earning the respect of his colleagues for his collaborative leadership style and his ability to tackle tough issues with a steady hand. Mike has always prioritized making decisions that benefit the entire community, ensuring that St. Charles County remains a safe, prosperous, and vibrant place to live.
Whether working to attract new businesses, supporting public safety initiatives, or advocating for fiscal responsibility, Mike’s leadership has helped make St. Charles County one of Missouri’s most thriving regions. Under his guidance, the county has been recognized as the healthiest, wealthiest, and one of the most educated counties in Missouri.

Mike Elam’s roots run deep in St. Charles County. As an active member of all four area Chambers of Commerce and the St. Charles Sunrise Rotary Club, Mike believes strong communities are built through collaboration, service, and showing up for one another.
His commitment to the community has earned recognition from respected local organizations. In 2019, he was named Person of the Year by the O'Fallon Chamber of Commerce & Industries, and in 2020, he was honored as Volunteer of the Year by Community Living for his dedication to improving the lives of others.
Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors for East-West Gateway Council of Governments, representing St. Charles County at the regional level and helping secure critical investments in infrastructure, transportation, and public safety. Throughout the years, he has served on numerous community boards and initiatives that work to make our county stronger and more connected.
Whether it's addressing challenges like housing for our kids, advocating for safe neighborhoods, or supporting quality schools for the next generation, Mike brings the voice of local families and small businesses to the table—always focused on solutions, not politics.

Mike is a proud father of three children and now enjoys the joy of being a grandfather to two beautiful grandchildren. His family is the cornerstone of his life, and it’s because of his love for his children and grandchildren that Mike is so passionate about creating a future where all families in St. Charles County can succeed.
